Please fasten your seat-belts because the countdown for our study tour is on the way!  It is now time to issue the airline tickets, so please pay attention to the information requested on the news below. We need your immediate action for the next steps. Thanks for your help!

Passport Information Required NOW

 

We are in the process of issuing the airline tickets now, in order to guarantee the best rate. You don’t have to make any payment now, because all expenses will be covered when you register for the Study Tour. Please double check your name on the list below to make sure your name matches what you have on your passport, because no change will be accepted after the air tickets are issued.  Please email me a copy of your passport front page for the travel company and the following information by this Friday, December 22:

     

      1. Name of passenger as it appears on passport

      2. Passport number, expiration date of passport, country of passport

      3. Passengers date of birth

      4. Passengers nationality

      5. Gender of passenger

      6. Address of passenger and cell phone contact (for delays/cancellations)

      7. Seat preference

      8. Frequent flyer number for United Airlines (if applicable)

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, Vietnam's largest and most vibrant city, packed with timeless traditions. With a tropical climate, it is the economic center of Vietnam.

 

Sightseeing tour including the following traditional attractions:

  • Reunification Palace

  • Central Post Office

  • Notre Dame Cathedral

  • Book Street

  • Evening: Saigon by night from the top (Saigon Skydeck)

 

Wednesday, June 27: HO CHI MINH CITY

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Visit to the University of Social Sciences & Humanities, School of Education

  • Introduction about Vietnamese education system. Speakers: USSH faculty

  • Meeting with USSH faculty and graduate students

  • Tea break

  • Introduction about programs at Andrews University School of Education. Speakers: Prof. Robson and Prof. Janet

  • Campus tour

Afternoon: Visit to University of Economics & Finance (UEF)

  • Meeting with UEF faculty and students

Thursday, June 28: HO CHI MINH CITY

 

Morning: Visit to Le Hong Phong High school for the Gifted (LHP)

Friday, June 29: AN GIANG PROVINCE

 

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Departure to An Giang Province, a province with the biggest population in the Mekong Delta. It is the key producer of rice in the country and famous for its natural beauty.

Afternoon:

  • Option 1: Visit to Tra Su Forest tour; an ecosystem of cajuput trees, covers an area of around 850 hectares or

  • Option 2: Visit to a floating village (depending on the traffic and weather)

  • Departure from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi

 

Saturday, June 30: HANOI

 

  • Morning: Worship at Hanoi Seventh-Day Adventist Church

  • Afternoon: Sightseeing tour in Hanoi

 

Welcome to Vietnam's capital city, with over 1,000 years of history and culture. It is an attractive, laidback city with charming French-Colonial-style buildings.

Today's sightseeing tour takes you to many of the city's highlights, including the Temple of Literature.  You will also see the Hoan Kiem Lake, and the fascinating network of alleyways and shop houses that make up the Old Town. Today's attractions include:

  • Literature Temple

  • Old Town

  • Hoan Kiem Lake

  • Water puppet show

 

Sunday, July 1: HANOI - HALONG BAY - HANOI

 

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Excursion to Ha Long Bay, UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Vietnam's favorite destinations.

Afternoon: Sightseeing tour to visit the Dong Trieu Pottery Village. Afterwards, departure from Ha Long back to Hanoi.

Monday, July 2: HANOI

 

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Visit the Floating market, accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Visit to An Giang University

  • Introduction about AGU. Speakers: AGU faculty

  • Meeting with AGU leadership, faculty and students

  • Tea break

  • Vietnamese traditional music performed by AGU students

  • Campus tour (AGU primary, high school and university)

 

Tuesday, July 3: HANOI-JAKARTA.

 

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Departure from Hanoi to Jakarta

Lunch

Afternoon: After lunch, enjoy a visit to Fatahillah Square, Monas Tower, and Istiqlal.

Dinner

 

Wednesday, July 4: JAKARTA

 

Morning: Visit to Universitas Indonesia

  • Introduction about Indonesian education system. Speakers: Universitas Indonesia faculty

  • Meeting with Universitas Indonesia faculty and students

  • Campus tour

Afternoon: Visit to BINUS University

  • Meeting with BINUS faculty and students

  • Campus tour (BINUS university and primary school)

 

Thursday, July 5: JAKARTA

 

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: A guided city tour to visit visit to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum, National Monument, and ITC Mangga Dua Mall

Afternoon: Enjoy your time visiting the former Batavia area, remnants of the colonial past.

Friday, July 6: JAKARTA

Morning: Departure from Jakarta to Bangdung

Afternoon: Sightseeing tour to visit Tangkuban Perahu Volcanoes

Saturday, July 7: BACK TO BANDUNG

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Worship at Universitas Advent Indonesia (UNAI), in Bandung, West Java

Afternoon: Meet with faculty and students and enjoy a sightseeing tour around campus.

Evening: Departure from Bangdung to Jakarta

 

Sunday, July 8: JAKARTA-CHICAGO

Departure from Jakarta to Chicago.

With its long history, interesting culture, and gorgeous scenery, Vietnam offers something for everyone. On this Vietnam tour, you'll overnight in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and Ho Chi Minh City. Sightseeing tours in the cities feature the must-see historic sites. In Ho Chi Minh City, you'll enjoy seeing some of Vietnam's gorgeous scenery and destinations, such as the Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with some of the world's most amazing scenery.
